Course
Here’s some advice from Mark Croft, Head Professional at Cocopah and PGA Member: “Golf Course Tricks and turns are the exception at Cocopah, where straight and narrow fairways are signature. The back nine offers more of a challenge both in length and shot selection, with two finishing holes that can make or break a round.”
FAVORITE HOLE: “Number six requires the right type of flight path, but anyone who can avoid the tree protecting the right side of the fairway off the tee will be playing for birdie. At 270 yards from the back tees, there are more rewards than risks that come into play.”
EASIEST: “The ninth hole would be a brutal par-3, measuring 239 yards and moving slightly uphill with a bunker guarding the front of the green. But as a par-4, it’s a great chance to save one’s front nine score or make a run at eagle.”
MOST CHALLENGING: “Number 17, at 353 yards, this is actually one of the longer par-4s on the course. Accuracy off the tee is vital, and the margin for error is slim with a small fairway. Players can bail out to the right, but most will pay the price with a blind approach shot over the bushes. The green is bigger than it looks from the fairway, but any shot that still travels long or right runs the risk of being lost in the wash or the fields.”
